Hua Hin.
The Gulf coast retreat of the Thai royal family, the country's most mature golf-estate market, and a quietly significant second-home destination.

Editorial introduction
Hua Hin sits three hours south of Bangkok by car and is the country's most established weekend-and-second-home market. Thai royalty have summered here since the 1920s, and the city has retained a calmer, more residential character than Pattaya or Phuket. The foreign-buyer base is concentrated in long-stay European retirees, Bangkok professionals with weekend homes, and a growing contingent of Northern-European remote workers.
Real estate inventory is more land-and-villa weighted than the island markets. Hua Hin and adjacent Cha-Am host the country's densest concentration of golf-anchored residential estates. Newer condominium supply along the coast and toward Khao Tao has begun to attract foreign investor attention as a quieter alternative to Pattaya.
